Boots and Booties for Big Girls

I recently received an email from one of my “big and beautiful” shoe shopping readers. Ah shucks; it was a complaint about one of my recent shoe design posts about footwear-related, knee high boots and foot-hugging short booties. This footwear fanatic was diplomatically polite in her first paragraph. And then — … oh my shoe-blogging goodness!

Suffice it to say that this plus size, fashion-forward shoe diva was a bit miffed that I had not included knee high boots or booties that would fit her magnificent Big Girl calves.

“…Most knee high boots or booties just aren’t wide enough above my ankle”, she said. She went on to say that I had not offered her any options and that millions of Big Girl fashionable, shoe divas in this country are entitled to as much shoe trend information as their thinner sisters.

I totally agree. I admit that I just hadn’t considered that I was leaving out a large portion of my shoe diva readership when I wrote that “let’s go shoe shopping” blog post.

Okey dokey…, so let me try to make some shoe shopping amends. I’ve scoured shoe shopping websites and found some shoe designs that just might strike the fancy of my Big Girl readers.

6pm. Michael Melenny. Get ready to establish your sex appeal with the Melenny! This striking bootie will look great with skinny jeans or leggings. 4″ heel. $47.99.

Barefoot Tess. Prague taupe bootie. These glam leather and suede booties are meant for gallivanting. $119.

One Stop Plus. Funtasma Dame. Step back into the Victorian era in this ankle bootie. It features a mid-heel, lace sides, and has great style. $75.95.

Woman Within. Heather wide-calf scrunch boot by Comfortview. Teal, purple, gray, brown, or black. $64.99

Torrid. Hematite pyramid studs and buckled straps edge up this taupe faux leather boot. $55.48.

Ready, set, let’s go shoe shopping.
