Menswear fashions have fascinated feminine fashionistas for a very long time. This trending influence has been around for  fashion history decades to be exact.

Menswear fashion design classics in the female wardrobe closet include blazers, varsity jackets, suit vests, cardigans, button-down shirts, boyfriend sweaters, and more.

Attilio Giusti Leombruni Double Sole Oxfords, $355, available at Nordstrom.

Another fashion item  has now been crowned the menswear-influenced shoe design staple of the season. It’s the awesome oxford.

On the international catwalks, oxfords have been paired with patterned socks, as well as with skinny jeans. This leaves us to recognize that this borrowed-from-the-boyfriend-closet is a year-round trend.

Shoescribe spotlights this printed leather, round toe, square heel oxford by Chie Mihara. $425.

For Resort 2014, the adventurous Opening Ceremony woman explores Korea! Classic OC shoe shapes have been refreshed with new details—like a row of straps on a Grunge shoe or a zip front on an oxford style—in a bright palette of sky blue, silver, and optic black and white. Grunge Patent Oxfords, $350.

This is the Brogue-style with performations along the top quarter and a faux-studded toe cap and a patent leather upper. Made in Italy of Spanish material, this oxford is $935 at Neiman Marcus.

Ready, set, let’s go Oxford and Brogue shoe shopping.
