“Keep moving”, says fashionable FLOTUS Michelle Obama to help combat youth obesity. “Exercise at least 5 days a week”, says the medical profession for young adults and the middle-aged. “Walk, walk, walk”, say the geriatric physicians to the baby boomers. Okay, so we’re supposed to do something else other than sit in front of a computer and/or in front of that new smart tv.
So, let’s get as creative with our fitness footwear as we are with our other fabulous shoe designs.
We fashionable females have just got to get started, and now is the time to begin. Let’s begin with walking. What shoe design should we buy as our first footwear purchase to get us up and out of the house? Perhaps if we begin with casual walking, we might then be able to take the next step toward something a wee bit more strenuous.
Casual Walking. Let’s slip on the Skechers Gowalk 2. Its padded nubs on the shoe sole allows for hours of cushy walking even though we’re probably going to start with 20 minutes per day, 5 days a week.
Power Walking. Once we’re mastered the casual walking, then the next step is that we take up power walking. The Prospecs Power Walk 405 is said to be one of the best on the athletic footwear design market. It’s considered one of the best all-around women’s walking shoes with the most amount of cushion, stability, and motion control. $149.
Golf. ASICS keeps you in the game with the GEL-Linksmaster. The rear foot GEL cushioning systems adds shock absorption in the heel, while the lightweight Trusstic System supports your stride. $84.97. FootSmart.
Running. Patagonia Women’s Tsali 3.0. $110. The Tsali is a lightweight neutral-cushioned trail shoe that was designed for multi-surface running. It has a durable, welded-TPU air-mesh upper that’s super breathable and minimizes seam discomfort. The reflective webbing and heel is for high visibility and the dynamic lacing system provides a precise fit.
Ready, set, let’s go athletic footwear shoe shopping.
